I don’t think you realize how excited I was when I found this DIY trick! My whole life has suffered because of my light eyebrows (ok, a bit dramatic) but if you have light eyebrows, you get it! People with a strong brow are so lucky they don’t even know it. The eyebrow naturally shapes your face highlighting your eyes, nose and cheekbones and creating and maintaining a thick, bushy eyebrow can be expensive - especially during these unprecedented times.
Now, I’ve always been told, “DON’T DYE YOUR EYEBROWS!” So, I was a bit hesitant but saw the results on a friend and had to try it. I do have to add that there is nothing I like more than getting pampered by a professional. Going to an esthetician and getting my eyebrows taken care of is one of my most favorite appointments to make (pretty much up there with getting a fresh hair color!) but again for now, this will have to make do. Here are the steps I took to create a natural bushy eyebrow at home.
DIY Eyebrow Tinting Steps:
Tweeze/shape your eyebrows to your liking. Comb through your eyebrows with the opposite end of your eyebrow pencil. Read the directions on the box of color.
Use this box color, open the box and place a dollop of color and developer on the tray. Mix together. I bought Medium Brown as it seemed to go best with my natural hair color.
Drag the comb end of the brow pencil through the mixed color and comb through your eyebrows. Make sure to reapply the color if need be to color all of your eyebrows.
Set the timer for 5 minutes.
After 5 minutes, dye will be very dark. Wash dye off with gentle facial cleanser.
If need be, repeat steps 3-5. I do two rounds of 5 minutes to get a darker brow.
After the second round of color, there tends to have color left on your skin, similar to when you get your hair colored. I remove it in the shower with this gentle facial exfoliator.
I still fill in my eyebrows when I put my “face on” but I don’t use as much liner. This just helps make me look like I have eyebrows when I’m not wearing makeup! Also, it says the liner from running out as fast.
Hope you enjoyed this little trick!
